Aliance of Communities for Sustainable Fisheries

Dear Supporting Organizations:
As you may be aware, the Alliance of Communities for Sustainable Fisheries is in the process of formalizing our organizational structure. We are seeking Federal 501C3 non-profit status, which will add legitimacy and increased effectiveness for our group in representing your interests. We have attached a letter to the Community Foundation of Monterey County which speaks to our start-up effort.

Starting up is always difficult, however. In order for us to get 501C3 status, we must first have a Constitution and bylaws written and both State and Federal applications prepared, which include fees. To accomplish these goals, we need about $2500, and are in the process of opening a bank account at Wells Fargo Bank. We are hoping that the different associations who are supportive of our efforts might contribute $500 each, or if that is not possible, as much as you can afford, to our effort. If you are able to do that, please send a check made out to the Alliance of Communities for Sustainable Fisheries at the PO Box listed above. We appreciate your support, and will keep you informed about our legal status and our activities.

Sincerely,

Mike Ricketts, Co-Chair, ACSF

Kathy Fosmark, Co-Chair, ACSF
